Hi All,
Usual post looking to upgrade my machine which is slightly older now.
I have just started to get into learning Unreal Engine and didn't realise how hungry it can get! Yeah, I can go lower quality and scale, but for my ideas I am struggling with crashing due to lack of performances.
I also game, occasional photoshop (Light duty) for work then general work office 365 stuff, so nothing too fancy i guess.

I would like to game in 4K or higher than i am pushing atm (would need a new monitor, but that's a separate spend) so having the GPU and gear ready is fine.

Current spec:
Gigabyte Aorus GA-AX370-Gaming K7 AMD X370 (Socket AM4) DDR4 ATX Motherboard
Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1080 Windforce OC 8192MB GDDR5X PCI-Express Graphics Card (GV-N1080WF3OC-8GD)
AMD Ryzen 7 Eight Core 2700X 4.35GHz (Socket AM4) Processor
Team Group Dark Pro 8Pack Edition 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 PC4-25600C14 3200MHz Dual Channel Kit - Black x 2 so 32GB

Things i have currently and prob wont need to change:
1 TB M.2 drive
1000W Corsair PSU
Case
Monitor - will replace down the line for better res.
Currently on a custom water cooled system, so would like to reinstate that at some point but can add that later on down the road i guess, as would need new motherboard and GPU blocks, so we will go air cooled for now.

Budget i am not too sure tbh maybe MAX £2.5k

Hope this is enough info for help on the right parts?

TIA

if you can hold of building right now - Ram prices are crazy - new gpu prices are due to increase, the Nvidia super series is delayed, so unless you're struggling hang fire - maybe upgrade the gpu for a used one of the time being? - you could easily slot in a 5700x3d and get a nice bump in perfromance and upgrade the card

thank for the replies, i guess i wait for a bit then :-) i notice CPU prices are due to rise, so was thinking do i upgrade now or will ordering later mean RAM + CPU price increases? i guess its hard to predict lol

you're stuck unfortunately, i wouldn't expect prices to decrease much for the next year and a bit. if you're not going to upgrade now, then potentially aim for Q1/Q2 2028
