Hi,

Looking at upgrading my Mobo, Ram and CPU from my current Q6600 to an i7 setup, but the question I have is, will I need to re-install Win7 etc?

At the moment, I am running boot off an SSD with storage on remaining drives.

Cheers,

To be honest, if you're changing quite a few components I'd always recommend a clean install. Chances are that even if the drivers all work okay, typically it takes more time trying to get everything right than it would to do a fresh install.

If it was just the CPU and RAM you might get away without doing a clean install but given you are changing the system board as well I would recommend doing a fresh install.

While it is always best doing a fresh install after installing components like thats,
you can install the components then put your windows7 disk in on boot and just run
a repair and it will sort all the drivers out for you and make sure its working properly.
