I'm in the market for a new monitor , funds are tight but the upgrade itch consumes all

I'm currently rocking a 27 inch LG IPS 1920 x 1080p @ 70hz oc'd from 60hz.

I love fluidity and high frame rates , I constanlty find myself justifying 1080p for the framerate overhead. But alas anything above my refresh rate is obviously wasted .

I have about 250 for a panel , 300 at a big push with justifiable reasons for it.

What would be the best choice for immersive gaming , high refresh rate monitors or higher resolution monitors @ 60hz? ,

I'd love 4k but ones I can just about imajine buying are 30hz and some are just two panels stuck together.

Basically what I'm asking is what should I upgrade to and why that path ? I can't afford g-sync as. Much as I'd like unfortunatly but want something to make the most of my cards

I expect for gaming you would see more benefits going for a higher refresh rate screen (144Hz) with modern lower response times. Also one with a blur reduction mode would add another level of gaming performance improvement not to be overlooked. if you had a beefy graphics card then 4k gaming is impressive as far as detail goes, but sounds like maybe you'd be better with a 1080p res still

I've only this last week gone from 1080p to 1440p. Of course response times and motion blur are critical. For me the bump is resolution is major. I can't go back to 1080p @ 27“ monitor size. It's horrid compared to it. Gaming looks noticeable more sharper (4ms my monitor) on 1440p to me but not as massive as I would have hoped and I can't really tell the difference from my old 2 ms 1080p unit. Desktop wise unquestionably it's brilliant. You just have to try it yourself. Beware of the PQ loss going to 1440p though. Gains and pitfalls of going higher resolution (different screens and viewing angles) Watching HD video is quite a eye opener even on nice 1080p videos and of course brilliant at 1440p content. I've yet to see a 1440p monitor with the blacks I got on my VA 1080p unit but still have it next to my new BenQ 1440p. suck it and see really.
