Upgrade - results

I posted a thread a while back asking about a possible upgrade including ram, mobo, cpu and graphics card upgrade to crossfire

Anyways - I took the plunge and went from

e6600 @3.1ghz
2gb ddr2 6400
asus p2ne sli mobo
1x ati 4890

to

Phenom II 955 oc'd to 3.4ghz
4gb ddr2 6400
gigabyte GA-MA790X-UD3P
2x4890 in crossfire

Anyway, here are the 3d mark vantage results

pre-upgrade

Points = 8379

gpu score = 10255

cpu score = 5411

Post upgrade

Points = 14286

gpu score = 15490

cpu score = 11585

Nearly doubled my score

The processor is the obvious winner - more than double the perfomance of the e6600 in this bench. The 4890s are getting mighty hot tho - might sell em and get a 5870.

Would have been interesting to see the scores with the Q6600 running 4Gb of RAM and 2x 4890's to see if the scores would have been closer
