Right first off i want to make this clear. I want to spend as little money as possible.

Right, You can see my current specs in my sig. What i want to do is an upgrade - CPU is holding me back currently. I don't game all that often but i really really would like SLI possibility.

Ideas so far

Conroe + Cheapy Asrock - Use current DDR (no SLI)
amd x2 939 + 939 board - use current DDR (SLI possible)
SLI 754 board + a 3400+ - use current DDR (SLI possible)
Conroe able board + DDR2 ram - use old p4 (no SLI, upgradable to conroe in future)

or anything else anyone can suggest?

ideally i want to spend as close to £100 or less as possible, but defiantly don't exceed £200 :| lol

any ideas ladies and gents?

You could sell off bits of your current kit. Then go for...
  • Intel Core 2 DUO E6300 "LGA775 Allendale" 1.86GHz (1066FSB) - OEM (CP-135-IN) £99.99
  • Gigabyte GA_965P_DS4 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard (MB-062-GI) £104.99
  • GeIL 1GB (2x512MB) PC5300 667MHz Value DDR2 Dual Channel Kit (GX21GB5300DC) (MY-030-GL) £79.99
  • Subtotal £284.97
  • VAT £49.87
  • Total £334.84
For SLi on that mobo, think you need hacked drivers/BIOS/etc. Current HSF is compatible with Socket 775 ;)
