Upgrade senses tingling

I have an i5 760 I think and about to order a new monitor.

I've added an Asrock and a i5 2500K to the basket as well. Is this a complete waste of time based on what I have? I haven't tried over-clocking my i5 yet I have to say but the 2500k looks very clockable so was tempted.

does what you have run everything you need? if so then save the money, wait for bulldozer or ivy bridge.

However the 2500k will clock much better, but do you really need that extra performance?

Get your 760 clocked. The difference in performance is not worth the money.

Not really worth it, wait for Ivybridge early next year unless your current CPU is slowing you down.

as everyone above has said, your best course of action is to get a massive cooler and overclock the processor.

what case, and what RAM do you have?
(i need to know that so that i dont spec a cooler that doesnt fit)

I've ordered a Silver Arrow and some low profile memory so will clock the 760 as much as I can and wait it out.

If you're gaming in high resolution (1920x1200 and up) with max AA/AF settings, then your still being bottlenecked by the graphicscard

I'd say wait eventhough it's tempting.

definately wait until next gen stuff. If you mainly game the difference between the two isn't all that.
