I currently have the Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 4 7.1 EAX Sound Card - OEM paired with a Speedlink Medusa 5.1 Headset..

Should i get a suround sound 5.1 system for my pc room, or upgrade my Sound card to the Fatal1ty FPS or XF-I OEM..

What you didn't say TaKeN is what you're trying to achieve. Do you want better sound quality? Do you need surround sound?

There isn't too much wrong with an Audigy 4 as a gaming soundcard. Medusas on the other hand, I've got them too and they offer poor sound quality and poor surround sound. Seems to me your money is better spent on new headset/headphones/speakers than a soundcard.

If surround sound isn't a big deal you could get some quality stereo headphones. 5.1 speakers would seem to be your best option though. PC speakers don't offer the best sound quality but they'll still (a good set) sound better and give more convincing surround sound for games than the Medusas.

If you want good sound quality you need to spend a bit of a moola..no point getting a M-Audio 192 and using a £50 PC 5.1 system. I'm planning to use my old B&W 601's, get a cheap NAD integrated amplifier. That'll make a good PC audio system. :)

£100 for the NAD, another £100 on speakers, £50-£100 on a good soundcard (not creative) sorted. If you want 5.1 looking at £500+ at the very least, ideally £800..or more.
