Hi all,

I'm long overdue a upgrade!!!!

I have put this together what do you think?

Intel Core i7 920 2.66Ghz, CPU
Asus P6T Deluxe X58, MOBO
Corsair 6GB DDR XMS3 PC3-12800c9 1600MHz, RAM
Corsair TX 650W, PSU
Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 4870 x2 2048MB GDDR5, Graphics
Akasa AK-967, CPU cooler

F.E.A.R 2 is sitting wrapped up on my desk so can't wait to play it!!!!!

what price does all that come in at?

I can't help but feel that you would get better value by going with one of the new phenom II's as they often outperform the i7 in games, although if your happy spending the extra, then I would say go for it, it will do fine with all the current games.
 
It works out about £1070ish, which phenom II would you go for

That's a BEAST of kit! If you've some extra cash why not upgrade your PSU to something like 750-1000w. Good luck!
 
If you have the cash I would stick with the i7 simply for the ddr3 tri-channel ram. Not to mention the i7 easily overclocks to destroy any amd you could bring.
 
My monitor is a 22" LG and Operating system is Vista Ultimate 32bit or 64bit, but i have a Windows 7 beta trial i may give a go.

I think i will spend the extra and get the 1000w PSU

Thanks for the spec, i had AMD last time i upgraded, and i was pleased with it, but as i haven't had a Intel for a while i think i will stick with the i7, but the PSU looks a better option:D

It sure is. I may hook it up just to see what the graphics are like. But i will have to stick to my 22" for now, otherwise i could get a telling off from the other half:D
