hi @ll

I play games and surf web @ 1900x1200, some games starting to struggle, think it may be my dual core

existing spec
- Intel e8600 @4.5ghz
- noctua cpu cooler (don't remember name)
- Asus Maximus Formula P47 board
- 8gb corsair ram (800mhz)
- Gigabyte GTX 670 OC Winforce
- Samsung 840 ssd (240gb) + WD caviar green 1tb
- Corsair HX1000watt psu
- win 8.1 64bit
- no wifi since I use wired connections ;)

thinking of upgrading mobo, ram, cpu

- I like black color of gygabite but used to Asus mobo (I am familiar w/ their boards), how does gigabyte bios/driver updates compare? http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=BU-012-GI&groupid=701&catid=6&subcat=2858
- I am interested in AOI WC kit since the air CPU coolers are massive and dust magnets - are the AOI WC loud (pump/fans)? does water need replacement?
- I added a new case for WC kit since my current case doesn't have the room - also seems like dust filters are easily accessible - I smoke so I need to clean dust regularly
- I only put in 8gb of ram, is 2400mhz overkill? any reason for 16gb?
- I didn't upgrade GFX card since on paper it should be able to handle the games @ current resolution - am I wrong? or instead of upgrading cpu/mobo should I just get a GTX 970?
Thx for help

Nothing wrong with Z97 and Gigabyte BIOS, same drivers too as you uise Intel chipset, Nvidia/AMD GFX drivers, realtek audio etc.

The water doesnt need replacing, they are sealed for life.

8Gb is fine for gaming, if you edit videos etc then go for 16GB.
