Well first off apologies for yet another spec me thread but i want to build a new system but the last time i built any thing was around the time the nvidia 7 series was just released.

My current system: (Majorly under performing now)

Mobo:
Processor: AMD Athlon64 3800
Memory: 4 X Corsair 1GB DDR XMS3500LL Pro TwinX
Hard Drive: 2 X 200G Maxtor DMax+10
Video Card: XFX GeForce 6800 GT
Sound Card: Creative SBL 24-bit onboard audio (7.1)
Speakers/Headphones: Creative Inspire T5900 5.1 Speakers
Operating System: Windows XP Home

I would like to go down the Windows Vista route (No one in my house has tried yet) so i was thinking:

Mobo: Abit AB9 Pro (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 "LGA775 Conroe" 2.40GHz (1066FSB)
Memory: 2 x GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC6400C4 800MHz Ultra Low Latency DDR2 Dual Channel Kit (GX22GB6400UDC)
Hard Drive: Keep the same?
Video Card: Need help
Sound Card: Creative X-Fi Xtreme Gamer Fatal1ty Professional 7.1 Soundcard
Speakers/Headphones: Creative GigaWorks 7.1 S750 THX® Speakers
Operating System: Windows Vista Ultimate 64 or 86?

Would i be able to play World of Warcraft and still browse via my second monitor or would i have to come up with some thing more beefy? I really appreaciate any help you could give me :D

Can't advise you on the majority of your spec (someone more knowledgeable will I'm sure :)), but the E6600 doesn't make much sense from a financial point of view as the E6750 is available now and is cheaper than the older CPU.

What is your budget for the graphics card? Standard answer coming of if it is between £150-200 then an 8800GTS is where you should be looking.

I don't know whether you intend to try overclocking but I'd suggest going for a motherboard based on the P35 chipset since it is the next step from the 965P, aside from anything else it natively supports the 1333mhz FSB speed of the newer CPUs (including the E6750) and motherboards are available at around the same price as the 965P based motherboards.

If you went for Vista 32bit then again you still won't see your full 4gb of Ram due to the inherant limitations of 32bit systems for memory addresses.

The hard drives should be fine if you haven't found any problems with them but to be on the safe side I'd quickly run the SMART feature on Speedfan or similar to see what it says. :)
