Hello all, its been a while since i last posted.

I am planning an upgrade from my current spec (show in sig) to something which will allow me to tun up the eye candy (especially in BF2142) and a get a speed boost. So i am looking at CPU, MoBo, RAM and GPU, below is what i have planned so far:

CPU: E6300

HSF: Thermalright SI-128
Akasa AK-183-L2B Amber Ultra Quiet 120mm

MoBo: Not sure here, what would you recommend, i will be overclocking the CPU (hence the after market cooler)

RAM: GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC6400C

GPU: Again not certain but am looking at the X1950 PRO

I welcome any suggestions improvements etc and i am looking to keep it around the 500 mark i think and one final question, will i neeed to change my PSU?? atm i have a 400W Antec SL400P see here http://www.antec.com/ec/productDetails.php?ProdID=04400.

Thanks for any help

For the motherboard, i would go for the Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3. Very good overclocker and very good price too. Only thing is, is that it doesn't have SLi or Crossfire.

The X1950pro is an excellent card for the money. The PSU that you have should be okay, but i would recommend upgrading it to something a bit better like a 500w with any extra money you have. The DS3 is cheap so you should save some ££ on it to buy a psu.

P5B for the 650i or even the DS3... both good clockers.

As for the card the 1950 pro is on offer at the moment.

kk, thanks for the replies.

The only thing i wondered about with my PSU is will it have the correct connectors for the new graphics card and motherboard??

Also what do you think i could get for my old parts if i sold them? (Sorry if this should be in MM, i'll post there if i should) The parts are:

2500+ Barton with Jet-7 cooler
Abit NF7-S
2*512mb Corsair pc3200
Sapphire radeon 9800 Pro

Thanks once again

The psu will connect to the motherboard fine, but from the website you listed about your psu, it doesn't say that it has a pci-e connector. You could get away with the 6pin - two molex connector that the graphics card should supply.
