upgrade spec ??

heya guys one of my freinds have come to me asking what sort of upgrade he can get with a max budget of around £300ish ill say 400ish because i know what hes like

here is his current spec he sent me

p5q deluxe motherboard. Quad core clocked from 2.6 to 3.4. Corsair sumit 8gb. Gtx 460 msi 1gb overclocked.

he only really light games as he has ordered a xbox one i think. but he did ask if i could do a few options for him as in 1 mobo cpu and mem upgrade and one gfx card cpu upgrade? ive only just got into pcs myself so im not sure what to go for?

i3 would be best spec and the Q6600 he as would out perform it so....
if he reused his GTX untill he had more funds he could at a push get an i5/ amd FX system

the i5 would be a much better system but its down to his choice at the end of the day.
the amd would be closer to his budget and the intel is closer to your budget. both systems would be a MASSIVE upgrade from the Q6600 he is running right now.

i would also say look at the PSU in the system as 775 is an old tec and the psu could be very old too.

As above a new PSU might be necessary unless he bought a good one already, that means an AMD setup might be the way to go to stay within budget
