upgrade sugestions?

my specs
amd 5000+ 3.1GHz (zalman 9500 cooler)
8800gt 700/1000/1750
500gb hdd
asus m2r32 mvp
antec 900 case
4gb 6400 ram
550w antec psu

have 120 to spend i need more power i was thinking of amd x4 but i cant find any for sale on ocuk.. all games run fine but i want to play GTA IV on better fps now i get just 15-30 (low settings..) my resolution is 1280x1024 what should i upgrade to get better performance? :)
 
the motherboard is abit out of date however

will my cpu cooler (zalman 9500 am2) fit am3 socket? as i've seen these motherboards use am2+ and it's nearly the same as am2? so im a bit lost.. do i need a new cooler or this one will be fine?
 
the e5200 can clock to 3ghz with the stock cooler on and with better cooling it can do 3.5ghz not sure what those athlon x2s do tho but probs about the same

you could up the budget and buy a the board triffles spec'd and a phenom ll x2:D

your cooler should fit every amd for the last 5 years.

just uses the same clip

So long as the motherboard is a rev 2.0 it will have a SB710 and will allow you to try and unlock the 2 locked cores of the CPU, of course this is not guaranteed but its nice to have the option there in case you get lucky :)

I have picked out this asus board but with the possibility of unlocking the other cores i may be swayed to that gigabyte board, i must have overlooked it when i was browsing what to buy :D
