upgrade suggestions please

I have an AGP system , and i am looking to upgrade to pci-express. My budget is £500 , i need a graphics card , motherboard , ram and a processor.The system would mainly be for games. Any suggestions and advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the reply, that looks good to me.Would i notice any major difference going from an Amd 64 3700 and an x800pro to that spec?
 
you would notice a big diffrence in games, the X1950 Pro is way better the the x800 pro, and you system would run faster with the better cpu.
 
Welcome to the forums, this might also be suitable, you get 2gb of Ram and it should be capable of allowing the CPU to be overclocked to about 2.8ghz and one of the best motherboards for doing so. The only thing is you might need a better CPU cooler than the one supplied with the CPU although it is decent. :)

So i guess my choice is 1gb more ram or the 512mb version of the x1950 pro, so which would provide the biggest performance boost?
