Upgrade suggestions

Ok looking at a friends PC he has
P4 2.53Ghz
2x256mb PC2100
GF4 MX440 (AGP)

Now its obviously a very low end system compared to what you lot are used to but I would like to know what it is worth upgrading to memory and gfx card upto before the CPU becomes the bottleneck.

does he have a budget?

you could probaly get aay with 1gb od pc3200 and a x1950 pro gfx card but you would be clutching at straws so to say.

As little as possible really but say around £90

this is as close as i could get for a cheap basic bundle while keeping it useable

and then maybe get a x1950 pro for christmas

otherwise if he wants to keep the systems just buy

That 1950 is PCI-e though

The cheapest 1950 AGP i could find was this, over budget though.

You could go with a HD2600 though but im not sure how they would perform.

i say go with the mobo/ram/cpu combo as a cheap upgrade

it will bring you into the world of dual core, pci-express and 64bit
