Upgrade Suggestions

Get paid friday.

Looking to spend about £100-£150 on an upgrade. Any suggestions?

I want an SSD, but to be fair load times don't bother me. Probably a complete waste of money!

Am swaying towards a new headset or GPU....

My spec is:

Athlon II X2 250
GTS 450
M4A78 Asus
500w CM PSU
CM 430 Elite Case
SB Audigy Sound
£20 Phillips headset (Surprisingly good)
Razer Arctosa
Razer Naga

To be fair, my cpu is at 3.75ghz and its coping with everything i throw at it so far...

What benefits would i see upgrading to a 4 or 6 core?

judging by the headset, mouse and keyboard, you're a bit of a gamer. I would say go for a phenom x4 955 for £109 as games are starting to make use of quads, and that big slab of l3 cache will speed things up as well. phenoms also usually hit 3.8 to 4ghz.

as for the change, sell your current cpu and graphics (should net you about £40 for cpu and £80 for GPU) and go for either the MSI 5850 @£150 or one of the GTX460s

Sounds good, although i've not got MM access yet. Doing my head in lol.
