Upgrade suggestions

Morning !

Looking to upgrade! currently have:

ASUS P5N-D
Intel® Core™2 Quad Processor Q9550
Coolermaster Hyper TX2 Fan
Corsair XMS2 4GB DDR2 1066MHz
Nvidia GTX 280

What would be best for around £500-£600? Only used for gaming.

Hey, i've got no overclock on the cpu. I had a rough look and everything seemed to be locked. If i did manage to overclock, what would the best speed be? Would i need a better fan?
not sure how to post the main temp but the 4listed are:

core #0 - 47
core #1 - 45
core #2 - 51
core #3 - 41

I think under load they hit around 60ish atm, although theres probably quite a fair bit of dust on the fan!
Also have 1tb hd
The case i have is Antec 900 gaming case and the PSU is corsair 1000w. Systems around 3years old now.

GTX 570 or 6970 ? Whats the best version of these cards? Im guessing with an ssd i'd go with corsair force 3? =)
