Upgrade suggestions?

Hi guys,

It's been a while since I last posted. I built my PC in summer 2012 (sigrig) and it has been working really well, however it will be 2 years old soon. Can anyone suggest any worthwhile upgrades that I can make to it.

I think I will wait until at least the next gen of Intel CPU (Broadwell or Skylake?) before considering a major upgrade.

I've been out of the loop for a while so not up to speed on the latest tech.

I mainly use my PC for FSX and lately Prepar3D. I have not really played any of the latest games, I have Skyrim though. How would my system hold up with the latest games?

sell GTX670, get GTX780.

maybe bigger SSD.

What resolution do you play games at?

Thanks for the replies guys. I have a Dell monitor with a native res of 1920 x 1080. I run my flight sims and games at this res.

Is the GTX780 a good jump from my 670?

780 would be a nice jump from a 670. I recently switched from sli 670's to a single 780, yes max fps are down a bit, but minimum and average are pretty similair in games i play. Higher capacity ssd would be a good addition too, as for the rest it's still a very powerful setup.

Thank you. I'm amazed at how much SSD prices have fallen since I built my rig...good news!

I'll look into an upgrade to a GTX780 and a larger SSD.

Must get back into visiting here more regularly, it's a fantastic forum!
