Hi,

My sister wants to upgrade her fairly dated gaming computer in order to play/run destiny 2. Her current spec is as follows;

Radeon R9 280
I5 4670k CPU
Gigabyte Z79P Motherboard
Teamgroup Vulcan Red DDR3 2133mhz Ram
NZXT Hale 550w psu

She only has £600 to spend to freshen this machine up. Is it possible? If so please post recommendations. Thanks in advance.

Does she overclock at all? If not get a new cooler if it has the stock one and overclock it, if already done then leave alone
CPU is ok
How much ram is there ? If it's 12gb or above that should be ok (again maybe try overclocking it a bit )

Basically that machine I think could take a new GPU, if you can get the new and 5700xt pulse for £425 I would be tempted with either that -( any more than that just get a standard blower for under £400) or an RTX card of some description (clearance rtx2070 non super perhaps?)
Oh and an SSD. A 1tb SSD can be gotten for around 80 quid now and makes a huge difference from a hdd (put OS on SSD and a few games and put the rest of the games on old harddisk

Just looked at requirements for the game you've mentioned, your sisters spec is still decent... Just add a nice new GPU and if need be some extra RAM (16gb)

Sell the existing parts to make up the difference here, you'd have to use existing hard drives, and chassis but could easily upgrade those in the future, this is just out of price range, but a very good spec, with you post count you should get free delivery, £655.95

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £667.05 (includes shipping: £11.10)
