So i feel its time to finally upgrade my I5 2500k system.
current specs for those interested are as follows:

I5 2500k
Z68 mobo
Gtx 780 3gb
8gb ddr3 1600mhz
Win 10 pro (retail)

Its served me very well for a good amount of years now, but i've got the upgrade itch and feel the time is right.
I'm not 100% up to speed with current specs so i'm just after a little advice.

Currently looking at this upgrade path:

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £974.40
(includes shipping: £0.00)

I will be gaming at 1080p, and may venture into 1440p somewhere along the line. Plus there is also the appeal of VR at some point. I can salvage a few things from my current setup:

PSU
SSds
Windows 10 pro (retail)
A choice of two AIO coolers.

Obviously the CPU will be somewhat minimal in real term changes, but the system as a whole should be a big improvement right?
Is this all decent enough for another good few years of gaming?
Also its been a while am i missing anything here?
And lastly will my copy of windows 10 install ok with all these changes?
Any advice appreciated!

Thanks.

With Coffee Lake just having dropped, you could argue it would be worth changing out into an 8xxx series chip over the 7xxx. Shouldn't change too much budget-wise either.

@RICKST20

food for thought? i5 8400 6 core- would be a crakcing upgrade if you want intel but not happy with intel still pricing their K chips high! and also at 3,8Ghz boost across all cores- it performs better then ryzen in most games from launch day reviews

MSI and asrock have boards as same price as well
