Its that time again and im looking to upgrade.

Atm I have a athlon, 2gb ram, and 8800 gts setup atm, im looking to keep the gfx card and upgrade cpu, mobo, ram, and psu.

What im looking at is an 8800gts sli setup, my 8800 is 320mb ram and im looking at another, my question is would a 640mb card be better than another 320mb card? also my budget is @£650, not really decided on whether to stick with an amd chip or go with intel, so with the budget im wanting to pickup cpu, ddr2 ram, mobo, gfx card, and psu running with vista home premium.

Thnx for any advice.

I'd not bother with the SLI setup, you could get a 8800 GTX and other nice stuff in your budget quite easily, then sell you 320MB 8800 GTS and make £130~ back for nicities. Spec'd you up something nice for £650. The 8800 GTX would be more powerful than 2x 8800 GTS 320MB in SLI, plus with this option you can sell your GTS and make some money back. Remember that if you have 320MB 8800 GTS and you bought a 640MB GTS then you would still only have 320MB to use because the 640 is hampered by the other card.

Wasn't sure if you wanted Vista Home Premium with this spec as well. If you do then drop the motherboard down to a P35C-DS3R, take out the Tuniq and MX-2 and you should be in budget.

Looks good, i was thinking about a gtx soloution while i made the post.

With the list you posted are you looking at me over clocking the cpu, plus would the 520watt psu be enough for the gtx card, plus 2 sata drives, and an audigy 2 card?

While im at it, i play cs:s, dod:S, tf2, and most of the popular racing sims, gtr2, gpl, etc, and eve online.

Which im pretty sure will easily run on this spec, alos crysis will be a purchase other than that low req strategy games.

Yep, that PSU will easily handle all of that, and also a Quad core if you ever decided to upgrade to one.

Aye the GTX will play those games no problem at all, and also Crysis/BioShock and other new age games.
