Upgrade time! Advise please

Right need some advice on new system got case and cpu sorted, using my 7970 and SSD / HDD from old system.

Need a new board and memory 8 - 16gb and possibly PSU.

My current PSU is Tagan PipeRock TG1100-BZ 1100w Modular BZ Series Power Supply.

Will this work with haswell ok ?

I do plan to O/C hoping to get 4.5 *fingers crossed*.

I think you should be fine with the Tagan.

For gaming, 8GB ram will be enough. So you just need mobo and ram.

Do you have a cooler your existing system you can reuse?
The mobo will give you a 4.6Ghz OC max, according to a review I seen recently.
 
My original cooler was :-

Asus Triton 88 Quiet CPU Cooler.

But in my basket I thought i put a H100i cooler ?

So the issues with the PSU's and Haswell I have been reading about shouldn't affect me ?

The only issue with some Psus is Sleep State, whether it can handle the low voltages required., but that can be diabled in the Bios.

The mobo can be changed if you are looking for xfire capabilities or a better OC, if your budget permits.
 
Not sure if you have bought the case and CPU yet. Your PSU is capable of running dual GPUs so it would make sense to have a proper Sli/Xfire capable mobo. Worst case scenario you have to disable the Haswell power saving states if your PSU doesn't support them.

That's ideally what I'd shoot for from what you have said but you have not mentioned a budget. Worth talking things through as come 100 posts you could well lose the nasty P&P :)

P.S I had to do the basket link with Chrome. Is anyone else having an issue with the multi browser tool? Firefox was having none of it :(

Love the look of that case perhaps i should have asked for advise on case as well, would love one with the best cable management as I am pretty useless with it :)

Budget is flexibly. I feel that i need and upgradel -gfx that will last me the next 3 years.

God times have changed I would have been upset if i didn't upgrade every 12 months cpu wise.

My main aim this go around is make sure i hit 4.5 ghz anything that can help with this is a bonus.
 
The Carbide 540 has been a fav for me to spec for sometime even when it was pre-order.

You'll find a few video reviews so you can see around the case. You'll notice the PSU has it's own compartment really so you aren't punished for having a non modular PSU (you do have one though which is a bonus). If memory serves there is 120mm from the mobo tray to the side panel, which is LOADS of space for cables.

It has three 140mm fans so good airflow and very good watercooling support, along with the nice large side window there is plenty to like and it happens to be cheaper than your original choice which is always good :)

The Z87X-OC is a great overclocking mobo and the price is actually very reasonable whilst on offer. The refurb'd H100 saves you a few quid if you want to go with it and arguably offers the best cooling to price ratio, it's so cheap infact most people opt to upgrade it's fans to Corsair SP120 quiet editions.
 
Right gonna order soon. Any last thoughts guys. Thinking of going for a H110 and replacing the fans at some point. Anyhow here is my basket.

Any thoughts on cooler ?? before I order thought it might have better performance than the h100i, especially if i buy some aftermarket fans? going to order around 12:00 probably so any thoughts welcome.
