Well I've had my 2nd gen iPod for almost 3 years now... and I think it's time to get it replaced. Few reasons for this:

1) Battery life isn't that great anymore
2) I'd like to move to Apple Lossless codec for all my albums, so I need a bit more than 20Gb really
3) I like the new slimmer / lighter models

I'm currently eyeing up the new 30Gb iPod (£189). I'm not really interested in the video aspect, although I may usually occasionally. I consider it a bonus more than anything.

So a couple of questions:

1) Will the audio quality be any better than my current iPod? I assume they must have improved the built-in amp a little bit?
2) Is there anything else to consider? I would consider another make, but ONLY if the sound quality was better. I like the apple styling, and I like the software, so the only thing that could tempt me would be noticeably better sound quality with lossless tracks.

Ta :D

On a related note, you might want to look on the Apple store at the refurb section. £130 including delivery for a 30Gb iPod Video. I'm eyeing one too. :p

Is that 5th gen?
