Upgrade Time? Need a few pointers please!

Hi Guys,

After some advice - have the following set-up....

1 x GTX 280
1 x Q6600 clocked to 3.6ghz
1 x abit pro mobo

I guess I can play most games at max res with a lot of eye candy - but am asking if i should be thinking of upgrading any of this set-up? Perhaps the mobo and processor? and if so would do people recommend.

I have a basic knowledge of pc components, so am just asking for some general advice please on whether I should be thinking of upgrading and whether I would notice any performance gains?

The i7 processor worth looking into?

Ok thanks - I guess I just felt the system i.e mobo and chip is aging in comparison to recent releases? - and was not sure if the newer nvidia cards are far more powerful than my current one. I may be upgrading my monitor set-up in the future so would be playing at a higher res, so thought I might need a bit more grunt, but i guess i can see.
