Hi all,

I'm wondering if you can help me.

I'm currently looking at my options to upgrade my graphics card & RAM, as my PC is struggling on some of the latest games (e.g. fallout 4).

Current build:
Intel® Core™ i7 CPU 950 @ 3.07GHz
Asus P6X58D-E
Corsair 2048MB DDR3 x 3 (so 6GB)
AMD Radeon HD 6970

The output is 2xASUS VN247 monitors 1920x1080

(hopefully this is enough information?)

I'm currently looking at the GTX 1080 (EVGA Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 8GB)

& Corsair Memory Vengeance Black 16GB DDR3 160mhz (dual channel) 4 x 4GB

What are your thoughts and recommendations? I'm also looking at water cooling the CPU only.

Apologies if there is a similar thread already.

EDIT: Removed links (Thanks mickyflinn)

Thanks

@RookieDude
coffee lake was aimed at your system lol. upgraded my i7 860 @4ghz to i5 7600k and saw 10+ fps gains on any GPU i used really - not to mention have warranty and newer tech :)

GTX 1080 is a little over kill for 1080p even gaming with two screens ... gtx 1070 with Ti coming 2nd Nov might be a better option- if coming full CPU/Mobo/Ram & GPU might find yourself looking at a GTX 1060

how much pennies are you looking to drop down ?
