Hey all

The time for an upgrade has come. Can you please check my spec and see if it all goes together fine and if I should choose anything else.

I'll be using the PC for CAD and gaming.

YOUR BASKET
1 x Intel Core i5-3570K 3.40GHz (Ivybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor (77W) - Retail £179.99
1 x Gigabyte Z77X-D3H Intel Z77 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard £104.99
1 x Corsair Obsidian 550D Quiet Midi Tower Case - Black £99.98
1 x Crucial RealSSD M4 128GB 2.5" SATA 6Gb/s Solid State Hard Drive (CT128M4SSD2) £94.99
1 x Corsair Vengeance Low Profile 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (CML8GX3M2A1600C9) £39.95
1 x Gelid Tranquillo CPU Cooler (Socket 754/939/940/AM2/AM2+/AM3/LGA775/LGA1155/LGA1156/LGA1366) £25.99
Total : £560.89 (includes shipping : £12.50).

I'll be adding a Corsair 520W PSU and an ATI HD 6870 from my old build. I'll upgrade these when Nvidia release more info on the GTX 670.

I'll also be buying an Asus Xonar D2X 7.1 PCI-E Sound Card to go with my Sennheiser PC 360 Gaming Headset. Will that sound card be good enough or will I get much better sound from a Asus Xonar Essence STX?

Thanks
Sam

I have changed the CPU to a i7 as they are abit better for CAD work.

I also upgraded the cooler, as ivy is quite hot once you begin overclocking.

I have also included a cheaper case so its not so far out of budget.

Thanks for the help. I like the case but in black, I think an i7 maybe a bit overkill for now as I've only just started to learn CAD. I'll go with that CPU Cooler.

Thanks again!
