Basically built my setup a few years ago and only recently got back into using it but I wanna get it 4k ready and moved into the living room once I get my 4k tv

Basic spec is I7 2600 3.4GHz / XFX PRO 850
Asus P8H61-M LE/USB3 / 2gb Nvidia 560 TI Twin Frozr ii
8gb Corsair XMS3 / Corsair 600T White

I like my case and the power supply is decent just wondering what would be recommended for an upgrade to do some 4k gaming that'll last a few years. Was thinking maybe £1000 for an upgrade but not clued up on prices etc as I've not looked at pc stuff for a while

Cheers

Your CPU is still fine. Can you overclock it? All you need is a GTX 1080. You'll also significantly benefit from a SSD.

Agreed, if your motherboard supports it, then you could swap the processor for a 3770k for slightly increased IPC. But your current one would do just as well
If you don't already have an SSD then get one, at least as a boot drive.
If I was you i'd get a used 980ti as a placeholder for the High end GPU's coming out at the end of the year instead of a brand new 1080 right now, as it still isn't good enough for 60fps on all titles, whereas the better ones at the end of the year will hopefully be.

Nah cpu is a locked one, it's a sandy bridge one iirc
I do have a crucial m4 ssd as my main drive just now so speeds etc are fine

I noticed recently I'm getting a lot of green pixels floating about the screen which I'm assuming is my graphics card dying?

I've been totally happy with my computer as its still really fast even now just the gaming side of things the graphics have dropped majorly, getting a fair bit of lag etc when there's a lot happening on screen and games like the witcher 3 I'm only getting about 20fps
