current spec is q6600 (@stock cos mobo is cack), 4gb corsair dominator, 250gb sata hd, Asus HD4890 @ stock on dell 2410ST @ 1080p, win7 ultimate, corsair HX520 psu, housed in a thermaltake soprano

looking for a newbuild as really looking forward to BF3 and reckon this might struggle a bit. Please feel free to tell me if it will be ok as I would rather have the cash in the bank

This means you can overclock.

Antec modular PSU - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-117-AN&groupid=701&catid=123&subcat=1088 - but the price has gone up as it was £65 just 48hrs ago.

But your current PSU is still fine.

is your pc struggling with any games you play at the moment?
kind of pointless buying a rig for a game that isnt out yet when you have a system that is capable of playing most of the games at the moment.
so, just save up untill BF3 is released, and also we might see some new CPUs/GPUs coming out around BF3 release date.

no its runs my current games just fine and the alpha ran sweet aswell. Was just a bit worried that my pre-order will arrive then run like a dog

will see how it runs on this old (ish) timer pc then

well, just get a 60GB or 120GB SSD and maybe a new 2TB HDD.
