Upgrade time - TV and AV compatibility check

I've plumped on a PS4 Pro, earlier than I was anticipating because I got a discount on it.

As such I don't yet have a 4K TV, but it gives me some time to do a bit of research. I've had the Samsung UE55KU6400 bookmarked for ages, and it's now £699 at JL. I'm in no rush so will probably see what comes up on Black Friday.

However the centre of our home cinema setup is an Onkyo TX-NR414 AV Receiver (http://www.uk.onkyo.com/en/products/tx-nr414-75913.html). It takes the inputs from our TV box, HTPC and PS4 and one cable comes to the TV (ARC port). What I'm struggling to ascertain is whether it supports 4K/HDR etc, if this isn't even a question because it's just a passthrough?

Thanks. I think I'll probably skip the amp as the receiver/passthrough and just use it for audio via the ARC channel. Kind of makes more sense to use the TV remote to change the source anyway, rather than the amp.

Same problem many of us have as even some of those with 4K pass through can't handle HDR.
