Upgrade time

Would it be worth me going to a core 2 duo setup at this current time?

I have the following

X2 3800 clocked at 2.8ghz
2gb Gskill HZ
DFI Ultra-D
X1800XT

Ive only just got the 3800 and its great but would now be a good time to sell up and switch to c2d with the money?

How much do you think id get for the motherboard, cpu and memory and then how much to upgrad to something like an E6400 or something

almost seems like i could sell it and get c2d for free, or is that just wishfull thinking?

mainly just music and internet but recently ive been playing a bit of supreme commander

ermm its hard to say, i dont really know the prices of resale stuff you want some one else to confirm but i'de guess you might get 250 for that lot, again thats just an educated guess i dont actualy know.

Personaly, and i'm actualy in the same situation as you, i'm wouldn't up grade now if your present system does eveything you need it to perfectly. I'm planning on waiting until I see what AMD latests stuff will be.

yeh, its just a matter of if my stuff will drop in price faster than intel stuff. Hoepfully new amd/intel things will make prices crash and people looking for good socket 939 3800s will get higher/stay the same

I'd just upgrade the video card personally.
My system is near identical apart from the video card, and im confident in saying that upping the video to a top end card will have it eating up the latest games no problem.
