Upgrade time.

Hey all,

I have decided to upgrade from my rather old Intel E4500 and 2gb of RAM

My motherboards a Asus P5Q.

I'm currently looking at the Intel Q9450, Q6700 or spending a bit more on the Q9550.. Any suggestions?.

As for RAM i'm finding OCUK's DDR2 stock rather limited. Could someone recommend me some?

About 300 max. Would like to get some decent cooling and a mouse mat for that price as well though.

Thanks Kenny, Looks good. Would you say i would notice a difference between the 9450 and the 9550? If it's only a small increase i will probably go for the 9450

Will be using for gaming and some photo editing, And yes i do plan to overclock

As for GPU i have a Nvidia 9800gt.

Nahh get the q9450 mate, for an extra 0.2Ghz, its not worth £40

The sunbeam is a great cooler, who knows how that new ACF7 will perform. I would stick with the Sunbeam.

Ok looks like i will Also what exactly does OEM mean for a CPU?

Ok, Been thinking overnight and this is what i have come up with.

And this RAM (only link i could find that wasnt a competitor.)

Any last suggestions before i hit "buy"? Have around £20 left if need be

You might want to wait for the i5s this week op. Theres a 55% sale on msi motherboards so you should be able to get ram and the cpu for less than you think.

Are they released tomorrow? Could be tempted by the sales.
