You do realise there is the X58 based SX58H7:

here is a review:

There is also the new SX58J3 which also has mounts for a mini ITX based motherboard too. The socket 1156 J2 and socket 775 J1 cases also can be upgraded with mini ITX motherboards too.

Also have you considered a mini ITX based system?? The DFI mini-ITX P55 motherboard and a Core i7 860 would be a very nice combination indeed!

I would also look at this SFF case which takes mATX motherboards too:

Hello,

Yes I had looked at the Shuttle, though at near £500
Also they arn't the quietest of systems once you start to push them.

I do quite like the look of the lan-gear though :)
Must do some more reading..

Thanks,

I have an SD37P2 myself and you are absolutely right. However I like to keep the system cool so I used constant speed fans now which means at idle the system is noisier but does not have the high pitched noise the system used to make when pushed.

Here is the "official thread" for the case:

Spoil sport :D

But I guess you are right..

It's just this upgrade flu...
I call it flu as it is like it we nearly all get it but most don't bother getting vaccinaited against it ..

:)

You could probably get a Q9550 secondhand and sell the E8600. That should hopefully vacinate you for a year or two!! :p
