not sure how much i want to spend. i'm looking for something with enough power to play games like cod4 and a decent battery life, i know you can't get both but can you spec me one that has a decent power/battery/price, ratio.
oh and my current lappy spec is;
t5450 1.66ghz
2gb ram
250gb hdd
nvidia 8400m gt 512mb, 256mb onboard and rest shared.

I guess it all depends on how much you're looking to spend really. Any rough estimates on budget? Or even any requirements on how big (or small) you would like the screen to be?

Should be able to find a few different options at about that price.

There's an Acer TimelineX 4820 with the following specs @ £849

Intel® Core™ i5-430M Dual Core Processor, 14" HD Screen, Windows 7 Home Premium Edition, 4GB RAM, 500GB HDD, DVD Rewriter, Dedicated ATI Radeon 4570 Graphics, Up to 12 Hour Battery, LX.PSG02.007

Or even a Samsung R780 priced at £745 with the following specs:

Intel® Core™ i5-430M Dual Core Processor, 17.3" Screen, Windows 7 Home Premium Edition, 4GB RAM, 500GB HDD, DVD Rewriter, Dedicated Nvidia GT330M Graphics, NP-R780-JS05UK

Or finally, a HP Pavilion DV6 at £772 with the following:

Intel® Core™ i7-720QM Quad Core Processor, 15.6" HD Screen, Windows 7 Home Premium Edition 64-bit, 4GB RAM, 500GB HDD, DVD Rewriter, Dedicated Nvidia GT230M Graphics.

Quite a few options really.
