In a few weeks Im going to be upgrading cpu, motherboard, memory, cooler and maybe case. This is what Ive come up with so far. So how are these......

Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz

Asrock Z68 Extreme4 Gen3 Intel Z68 Motherboard

8GB (2x4GB) Corsair DDR3 XMS3, PC3-10600 (1333), Non-ECC Unbuffered, CAS 9-9-9-24, 1.50V

Thermalright True Black 120 Heat Pipe Black Nickel Plated Heat Sink

Akasa Apache Black Ultra Silent AK-FN058 Fan HDB bearing PWM fan 120mm

I know a lot of ppl has bought this board, so has it got any bugs or anything I should know about? Also is the memory fast enough cos Im planning to get the cpu to 4-4.5ghz:cool:

Im thinking about keeping my Antec 900 case because there's no cases on the market I really like atm

Everything else in my sig Im keeping.

1600Mhz is the sweet spot for memory for Sandybridge, you can overclock the CPU independently by just altering its CPU multiplier and leaving the BCLK alone, then its just a case of setting the RAM timings and frequency manually in the BIOS or there maybe a XMP profile that loads to do this.

XMP or non XMP memory? Also is it ok to use all 4 slots up or will I have probs? Cos I might aswel get 16gb as this build will hopefully last 4yrs or so

have a look at the threads in the motherboard thread for the issues people have been having with the motherboard, if you want the motherboard this week is the best time(well actually it was the other week when they had it for £136 for 1 day) as I don't think it's worth over £145.

Umm Im just looking at the MSI Z68A-GD65-G3 board, and was wondering about your thoughts of getting this over the Asrock? I was going for the all black look, but since Im not changing my antec 900 case, its not all the world keeping the black look.
