I have a PC which quite frankly is in need of an upgrade. I have it about 7 years and this upgrade will have to last a long time too.

CPU is an Intel Core Quad Q6600 @2400 Ghz
Graphics is a Geforce 8800 GTS
6GB of PC 6400 RAM
Hiper PSU - 580W
Windows 7

I intend the keep the case, CD Rom, hard drives and Hiper PSU and replace the Mobo, CPU, Memory and GPU.

I do some gaming but only have one Monitor and only play COD and hopefully Battlefield 4.

Can you please advise if it is best to go GTX 970 or R 9 280/290 ? Or would something else be more suitable?

I believe the Nvidia is a much lower power GPU, and will be cheaper to run.

Happy with the CPU but is this the best mobo bundle ?

1 x TeamGroup Xtreem LV 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-21300C11 2666MHz Dual Channel Kit (TXD38G2666HC11CDC01) £65.99

I think 8GB of memory is ample.

Regarding my Hiper 580W Power unit will this be adequate ?

With such a large amount of upgrades will I be able to keep my copy of Windows ?

Many thanks

OK so point taken about Hyper PSU so have added a Superflower 650W one
