Upgrade Time

Work have given me a budget for a new PC £4,000.00 max.

my last pc was built and supplied by OC very happy, even still now but i have to spend the money or lose it.

i have upgraded along the way..current spec

- CPU: Intel Core i7 3770K 3.50GHz Ivybridge overclocked to @ 4.1GHz
- Motherboard: Asus P8Z77-V DELUXE Intel Z77 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard
- Cooler: Corsair Hydro H100 Extreme Performance Liquid CPU Cooler
- RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C10 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit
- 1st Hard Drive: 2 x OCZ Vertex 4 256GB 2.5" SATA 6Gb/s Solid State Hard Drive (RAID 0)

looking at titian X - SLI and skylake with m2 or pcie HDD new build from OC any ideas ?

Your current PC is more than enough for anything out there. Just get rid of the 780's and stick either sli 980 ti's or titan x's?

My PC at work was cobbled together for about 100 quid - plus the feed for the hamster inside doing all the work!

Skylake has very few PCIe lanes, even the top I7-6700K only allows for the following PCIe configs:
"PCI Express Configurations ‡ Up to 1x16, 2x8, 1x8/2x4"
(Taken from the Intel ARK pages).

Not really ideal for a multiple Titan setup.
If your bent on upgrading the CPU you want to go i7-5930k.

What on earth do you do for work that they are spending 4k on a PC?

it was part of the deal joining them i get a high end pc every 2-3 years

been reading a lot about x99 i guess thats the i7-5930k ?
