Curent PC spec -
Intel Core i7 3770K, still at stock.
Asrock Z68 Extreme 7 Gen 3,
16GB Corsair Vengence,
2 x 500GB SSD, 2 x 250GB SSD
2 x GTX980Ti SLI,
Asus Xonar sound,
Win 10 Pro 64 bit,
2 x DVDRW,
Logitech Z5450,
Zalman Level 10 GT Case,
G25 Wheel with ECCI pedals.
BenQ 1440p monitor.
It's not bad but seems to be getting old in some places.
The i7 3770K doesn't appear to have a much better replacement, maybe more cores? but that knocks out Skylake doesn't it.
Asrock Z68, maybe some improvement here but not sure which aspects of the PC will be better.
16GB DDR3? Is there much improvement to be gained by DDR4.
I can't see much to be gained by Skylake unless it involves a newer motherboard, will a Z170 offer more. DDR4 would need a new motherboard and CPU anyway but again is there really much difference.
Overall has any real improvement been made in recent years other that GPU's?
Andi.
