Hi all, i can upgrade my phone now and not sure what to get. I already hva e a iphone 6 plus 128gb, i have looked at the pixel and iphone 7.

went through the same process literally this week.

i narrowed down to iphone 7, pixel and oneplus.

each had there pluses and minuses.

pixel expensive and only 32gb storage (128 was outrageous)
oneplus was bigger than i wanted and expensive considering the phone is relatively cheap (buying on contract for the data i needed it was £45.99 a month)
iphone has a small battery

i ended up going the iphone route.

128gb, no upfront, unlimited mins and text, 15gb data 6 months apple music. £45.99 a month. (cheaper than it would be to buy the phone outright from apple and go sim only (over 2 years)

I already have an iphone 6 plus 128gb, My partner works for ee so the plan isnt an issue, mainly desiding on what phone, also been looking at the galaxy s7

Out of interest why is 128gb so critical on a mobile phone? Or do you use it for a lot movies and games and so on? Not criticising just interested! :)

I always buy phones with the maximum storage capacity. Here are some of my reasons:

1) Photos and videos. I often go on trips with my wife and kids and take a crazy amount of photos and videos of them and our surroundings. I only record in 4k video and a minute of 4k is about 300mb in size. Just 5 mins of 4k video is 1.5 GB.
2) Games. Not a big gamer, but i download games to occasionally try. Games have gone a long way and some go upwards 1gb in size. Also have some games for my kids.
3) Offline music. I have Spotify premium and Google play music for music streaming. But I also have a few playlists stored in my device (highest quality). This is when im on the plane without an internet connection.
4) Movies. I can stream Amazon Prime video and Netflix, but I also have stored movies for my kids when traveling.
5) Bigger storage will reduce my downtime on transferring photos and videos to my computer.

16/32gb is not an option for me. 64gb is cutting it. 128 is about right. 256 is overkill but id still go for it :p

Thanks, always interesting to read how other people use their devices. :)

I don't shoot many videos and they're not in 4k as I have no reason to shoot in 4k. I take lots of pics, but they backup to google automatically so that's not an issue. Offline music, I get that - especially if you're in a plane or abroad. I do sometimes rely on my OTG adapter but accept it's less neat. I never use my mobile for movies.

So my use case is completely different, media on my phone is not an important function for me at all. Funny, I really hadn't considered a phone to be used as a movie watching device :o

Such a luddite! :D

For me is pictures. And the odd video. And music No games.

Really like to have an Sd card to keep it all on. It's a nice extra backup should the phone fail or something

32 is enough on board IF it has an Sd card
