Upgrade to 27" ?

I currently have a Samsung 2443BW 24" screen.

I quite fancy a bigger monitor, and that Iiyama 27" (the £305 one) looks tempting, but the resolution is less than my current monitor (1920x1200).

Would I notice much of a difference going down from 1920x1200 to 1920x1080? Has anyone done similar?

Any feedback is appreciated.

You would notice the difference going down in resolution AND up by 3", yes.

Yes, you will notice the difference, and likely in a good way.

Last year I moved from a dell 2408 to a dell 2709 and the switch has been great. The resolution is the same, but the screen size is bigger. I really do feel that everything is easier to read and "makes sense" at this particular size/resolution. Well recommended.

Your switch will be a little different as you will not only be changing size, but also resolution and aspect ratio (16:10 to 16:9). To you will be gaining a lot of width and not much height (also vertical resolution will be reduced). So if you play lots of movies and games then things will look great, but if you do lots of internet browsing/word processing then it may feel a bit like a downgrade.
