Hi,

I'm currently using a pretty high-end system, 5800X, X570 Tomahawk, 3080Ti, and 16GB Corsair Vengeance LPX 3600Mhz CL18 RAM. Is it worth purchasing another set of RAM to have 32GB for gaming purposes?

I'm also considering buying two 16GB Crucial 3600MHz CL16 RAM before they completely disappear from the market.

Any help would be appreciated

If you're planning on keeping it through the early DDR5 era, then maybe it is. But, if you'll upgrade in a year or two, then I'd give it a miss.

Yeah, it hasn't taken long for me to reconsider the RAM capacity. Thought I should have gone for 32GB and regret selecting 16GB. It's a high-end system after all.

If I go 4 modules, then I'll be getting dual rank while 2x16GB isn't guaranteed.

So I have 2 by 16gig 3200-CL16 (running at 3200CL14-16-15-27-42-1t) Corsair RGB Pro Samsung DIMMs that are dual rank and perform better than the 4 by 8gig 3200-CL14-14-14 modules I also have.

I'd suggest getting second hand RAM to ensure that the system is dual RANK.

BF2142 (spits) loves the dual rank config. I struggle to get the 4 DIMMs all happy and booting at anything other than XMP. If I moved to a 5800X, the 4 modules maaay be as fast but the system will struggle to get them at say 3400CL12/CL14.
