Upgrade to 8 or 9 foot rod?

Just bought a 7' spinning rod, there was a 8' and 9' for a couple of £ more. I hardly ever go fishing maybe a couple of times a year.

Your think it was a no brainer getting the 9' rod but I figured save a little space with the 7' rod.

Now I'm thinking of changing it. What would you do?

I'm quite happy with my 6" rod, but my ex-wife seemed to prefer 7" or bigger - a lot of this of course comes down to technique. I can do more with a 6" rod than many can do with bigger rods.

That's it, I'm only going to be catching tiny trout so why would I need a 9' rod, however I'm thinking of sellability and bang for buck etc.

7" is fine. I use mine on the Thames and can fling out a spoon further than I need to.

I think most of us would love to upgrade to an 8 or 9’ rod.
