upgrade to 9800 Pro

Hi All

I will be upgrading my Athlon PC system as per my post in the general hardware forum, however, the graphics card is the one area i'm really stuck on. I use the PC for gaming & movies and although I've read a load of posts on here and reviews elsewhere and i've not really got very far on deciding...so..

First question is what do peeps on here think is opposite PCI-E card to the agp 9800 pro? as that is the one i'm replacing?

Otherwise my thoughts at the moment are to spend approx £50 give or take £10 which will allow me to use the new PC (ie an ATI 1600/nvidia 8500) with out any hindrance and then upgrade sometime next year when the DX10 will have evolved a little.

Or spend about £100 on a 1900/50/xt and then wait until it can no longer play games due to DX10 requirements...(although I have seen an XFX 8600 XXX edition for £70 which seemed good value)

Or get a 8800gts 320 now and wait till that one really lags in DX10 (which after some of the reviews i've seen won't be long!)

really need some suggestions for this one pls..

7600gt - haven't looked at that one..... another to add to the list! groan...

thanks all for your suggestions.. the 9800pro is only a 128mb version.. I'll have another look at the 1650 again..
