I'm currently running a single 570 and since moving to 3D vision have noticed a drop in my framerate which what Iwas expecting.

I don't want to go SLI (my own preference) , A 690 is hard to justify given the price so the next best option I would expect is a 680?, is there any particular 680 that is better for 3D i.e will is a 4GB card be better giving the vram required for 3d? or would I be better with a 2GB card with a faster clock speed?.

Cheers

Just FYI, the 690 is still SLI even though it is one card. It's the number of GPU's which are important not the number of physical cards.

A 680 is hard to recommend at the moment with a 670 being priced so much less and being fairly close (< 5-10%) in performance.

Have you considered a GTX 670 with 4GB vram

3D doesn't use more VRAM. I've tested it in numerous games.

as mentioned above, you don't need 4GB for 3D
4GB is only even vaguley interesting if you are going to at least SLI and possibly tri-SLI

670 is very good value and only probably less than 1% slower when both are fully overclocked (in some cases 670 is faster when fully OC'd compared with 680's which are getting more and more difficult to get a decent OC out of apparently)

I run a 680 with 3D vision 2 and I have to say it is awsome. The 670 will cope just as easily and save you a few quid in the process.

Whats you screen res? hope your not running 3 monitors, if its just 1 1080p you will be fine and yes i know this reply is a bit late now.

I'm running a 4Gb 670 one card 3 screens, play lord of the rings online in 3D surround and getting over 60 fps god these cards are good, had 480's in Sli,,, these card are close to that performance... do need my Sli fix though
