upgrade to a Q9300 from a Q6600?

Ive just found a guy selling loads of stuff dirt cheap;
Q9300 @ £150
QX9650 @ £350
Asus Rampage Extreme @ £150
etc.

So yeah, would it be worth it?
I'm going to OC my q6600 at some point btw.

Yeah, the Q9300 has only got 6MB L2 cache, and the Q6600 has 8MB... I personally would go for something else, like the 9550 instead, those have 12MB L2 cache...

Even a Q9550 or Q9650 would only be a small jump. (10% increase clock for clock I think)

Have you tried clocking your Q6600? Most will get 3.0Ghz on stock volts.

Wouldn't waste money mate, just go down the overclocking route. I've got the Q6600 and just ordered a new heatsink, the Tuniq Tower 120, and like someone mentioned earlier, 3ghz is quite easily achievable.

Save money and have a bit of fun overclocking!
