Upgrade to Conroe - What to get?

ive started using my pc a lot for music production and a lot of the VST's i use like to drain cpu power that my opteron 148 cant handle

my pc is pretty new so i think all id need to replace is the CPU, Motherboard, RAM + Heatsink?

I havnt really got that much money to spend so my budget is around the £300 mark (this is including moneys that id get from selling the old parts)

If someone would be good enough to put together a spec for me id be greatful

would you say i would get a good enough increase in power to justify swapping from my opty setup?

Well i went from an X2 4200+ @ 2.6Ghz with 2Gb RAM to an E6400 and only a gig of RAM for now.

Its a lot quicker even with the conroe at stock. Got the conroe at 2.6 and its very quick.

Overall im very pleased
