Hi

I current have an Eveshan Solar 750 pc with a Foxconn 946G7Ma-8KS2H micro ATX motherboard and an Intel E6400 (2.13Ghz 2Mb cache 1066MHz FSB).

I would like to make it run a little quicker. Would putting an Intel E6750 processor in help and would it work?

Thanks

Is your motherboard this one? If so then no, you can't use an E6750 I'm afraid, the motherboard doesn't support the required 1333mhz FSB, you would need to replace the motherboard. The other option is to search out one of the older Core2Duos that use a 1066mhz FSB - E6300, E6400, E6600, E6700, E6800 are the most common), however for the money you'd be spending there wouldn't be any real benefit compared to simply buying a new motherboard and CPU.

You may be able to overclock your current CPU a bit though which would help.

As already pointed out even if the CPU upgrade worked I very much doubt you'd even notice any improvement in day to day use.
