Ive upgraded from my 3 year old 955be to a shiney new 3570k on a p8z77-vlx. Im colling with a 212 evo with a noctua Noctua NF-F12.

im idling at 30c ambient is about 19c, OCCT puts it at 54c,52c,53c,50c

Heres the questions: ;)

1) Are my results ok, the temps spike up near instantly to these max temps where on my 955 they took a minute to get there?

2) Cpuz claims my processors is running @3.6 when ive not overclocked it, is that turboboost or my motherboard being weird?

3) in guilds wars 2, core 0 is 8c - 10c hotter then all the other cores, is that normal?

cheers in advance

1) Temps are normal and behaviour is normal

2) I suspect it is Turboboost, but what does CPU-z show the multiplier as BCLK.

3) That core is probably under more load.

Hope this helps

There seems to be a problem: you haven't overclocked it! :p
Ok decided to give a mild slap with the overclocking stick.

so i turned off turboboost, people have been getting weird results with it on, set the multi to x40 (i know im a wimp :D), and got the vcore to 1.20.

its prime95 inplace large FFT, at 63 max on cores, using realtempGT. and stable under all the benchmarks ive lobbed at it.

is this ok? or am i doing it wrong?

You shouldnt need to change vcore at all to get 4.0Ghz, my friend has a voltage locked z77 board and can get a stable 4.3Ghz without any voltage change!
