Upgrade to iPhone 4 or wait?

My main contract is due for an upgrade in a couple of weeks & I have offered what I think is an okay deal for an iPhone 4. My only concern is that I may be too late to the iPhone 4 party, if rumours regarding the iPhone 5 are true (new iPhone due in July) I will most probably kicking myself in July if I upgrade now.

I have been a Blackberry user for a few years now & even though the BB is a functional device the OS now seems very stale. I've been playing around with my wife's iP4 & I must admit I am impressed.

So the question is what do I do? Do I wait it out for the iPhone 5, that may or may not be released this summer or do I bite the bullet and upgrade to the iP4 now?

Well, the iPhone 5 is far from a confirmed announcement, we may not see it until the end of this year or the start of next year.

However, it may be announced on schedule as normal, there is no way to tell.

Are you really bothered about having the latest up to date phone?

If you decide to wait, Apple will announce it (if they announce it) around the 6th of June. Hang on until then if you can.

You can always sale the ip4 and put some extra money towards a ip5 when it comes out. This is what I'm planning IF there's a reason to upgrade. But I did buy the ip4 outright and went for a far cheaper pay monthly sim only.

Yeah, if you decide you cant live with the iPhone 4 because the iPhone 5 would suit you so much better, you wont make a huge loss.

You can get brand new ip4 for 430-460 brand new. Buy that with over draft/interest free credit card. Keep boxes and use screen/back protectors and you'll get a great price when ip5 comes out if you want to upgrade.

I was thinking of getting the iPhone but pretty much everywhere is looking for 24m contracts and I'm just not up for that if it is being replaced. Went with a desire s over 18m which was a free upgrade and it is as capable as the better half's ip4. Will see if it was a good decision over the next month or so, but if I hate the desire s I'll flog it and replace with an iPhone 5 - they will crop up on the bay and as the desire was free when I thought I would be shelling out at least a hundred notes.

I have been offered the iP4 @ £35/month, 2000 mins, 5000 net-to-net mins, 5000 txt & unlimited data.

It's a great deal, but my only concern is what will a used iP4 be worth when the iP5 finally gets released?
