Hi guys wondering if you can help.

I bought my son a PC from here Overclockers back in 2016.
Fast forward he`d like to upgrade the system.

Currently:-

Corsair Obsidian 350D Micro ATX case
Asus H110M-K socket 1151 DDR4 Micro ATX motherboard
Intel Core i5-6600 CPU
16 Gb Team group Elite (2x8Gb) 2400 dual Chanel kit.
A 5700 XT AMD GPU

He`d like to use the same case if possible and the same power supply, a Superflow 650W and go with an AMD system that could easily fit the case as he wants to install it himself. So a motherboard, CPU, Ram and CPU cooler. Something with a bit of bling wouldn't go a miss.
Budget ~£800 but could stretch a little more.

Just throwing an intel build into the mix as you can get 10 cores for almost the same price as AMDs 6, added in a new case and aio for some bling.

Thanks for the reply guys, appreciated.
My son games at 1440p on a 27" LG monitor. No signs of him streaming and he is cabled to the internet 500 meg.
I think Ill go with the AMD spec and upgrade the CPU a little and add an AIO Cpu cooler

thats a pretty decent spec. drop the Ram to 16GB (32GB is overkill for gaming) and then pick up a 240mm AIO such as the Arctic Freezer 2

if you shop around the cost of the part above should be as below

5600X - £329
Asus B550m-Plus Wifi - £154
Arctic Freezer 2 240 - £90
CORSAIR VENGEANCE RGB PRO 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 3600 (PC4-28800) C18 - £85

total £658

for the rest of the money, buy as many LED strips or fans as you want. :D

Your sons pc is nearly identical spec to mine and he will be encountering issues in multi player shooters due to the lack of threads on the cpu ( 100% load in most games and bottleneck on the gpu)

but other than that the i5-6600 seems to be running fine in everygame I play

you might as well wait a few more weeks and see how rocket lake performs if pricing is right going with a i5-11700 myself with a b560 board

pretty much was temped to give up gaming this week rx5700's non xt generic versions have been selling for over £900

so tempting to sell it and put the old gtx560 I found in the garage and just play football manager for a while
