I am trying to help my 16 year old Grandsons ambition to "upgrade" to a PC (from an X-Box) with limited funds.
He has inherited an out of date PC which has a useable case, power supply and SSD for OS use. Graphics card is probably "outdated" - Radeon RX580
I asked him what he wants to do with it and he said - current favorite game "RAINBOW 6 SEIGE". He is using a 1920 X 1080 Screen and needs (?) a frame rate of 120-144 fps
He has about £400 to spend from his collected birthday funds.
I have a spare Ryzen 5 3600 CPU which is AMD Socket AM4.
As a "1st Step Upgrade" I could see us getting:
- DDR4 memory - 2 x 16GB?
- B550 Tomohawk AM4 motherboard - new or secondhand?
- Graphics card ? Radeon 7600 ? What is needed to run the type of game he has indicated?
Prob get these with available funds - is the Ryzen 5 3600 man enough?
He has talked about "the latest kit" but I think the an AM5 set up is way beyond his budget!
HELP / Guidance - I build my own PCs but an in the Photoshop / database / excel line of use where graphics performance is not so important!. Mel
